The Stories Your Brain Still Tells You in Week One
"
You've shown up. You've sweated. And yet the doubts didn't fully pack up and leave. That's normal — here are the 7 stories that linger in week one, and the truth about each one.
- 'Everyone here is in better shape than me.' Some are, most aren't. Look around again next class — it's a mixed bag of bodies, ages, and fitness levels, and you're already one of them.
- 'These workouts are too hard for me.' Every workout is scaled. Every single one. The MOD Board shows you exactly how — we teach you to read it in Lesson 2.4.
- 'I'm the slowest one in the room.' There is no slowest. You finish when you finish, and nobody's clocking you.
- 'I still don't know half the words people are using.' You're not supposed to yet. Module 2 is literally just teaching you the lingo.
- 'I'm going to hurt myself.' We coach form before we coach weight, every class. Our injury rate is low for exactly that reason.
- 'A coach is going to call me out.' We don't. We coach hard, not loud — no yelling, ever.
- 'I dread the burpees.' Sometimes they show up. Sixty seconds. You'll live, and they get easier faster than you think.
Here's the pattern: the doubt shows up before the proof catches up. Every class you attend is another piece of proof. The stories get quieter on their own.
